Rome's first rione has gone bohemian with conviction — vintage clothing racks spill onto sidewalks, wine bars occupy former workshops, and the Colosseum is visible from unexpected street corners like a persistent reminder of scale. Via del Boschetto and Via Panisperna hold the neighborhood's best browsing, antique dealers and independent designers sharing the block. The energy is younger than the centro, less performative than Trastevere. Monti feels like it belongs to the people who actually live there, which in Rome is increasingly rare.
