Walking loops in Old Town, Tallinn
The medieval walls are intact enough to walk stretches of, their round towers punctuating a skyline that hasn't changed fundamentally since the fifteenth century. The cobblestones inside the gates wind between guild halls, apothecaries, and churches whose interiors are dim and cold in the way medieval churches should be. Raekoja plats — the town hall square — is the oldest Gothic town hall in Northern Europe, and the cafe tables arranged before it create one of the most architecturally perfect people-watching spots on the continent.
