Walking loops in Docklands, Dublin
Glass and steel and bridges that open for ships — Dublin's Docklands is the city's newest face, built on old port land where tech companies now occupy buildings designed to signal innovation. The Samuel Beckett Bridge is shaped like a harp lying on its side, which is either poetic or on-the-nose. The Convention Centre's tilted glass cylinder catches light from the Liffey. It's corporate-modern, yes, but the riverside walks are genuinely pleasant and the water adds a quality of reflection, literal and otherwise.
