Walking loops in Vyšehrad, Prague
The fortress sits on a cliff above the Vltava, and the tourists who make the climb are rewarded with a view of Prague's spires that the castle district can't match, plus actual solitude. The Slavin cemetery holds Dvorak, Mucha, and Capek among other national figures, their graves shaded by old trees. The casemates tunnel through the fortification walls, cool even in August. Vysehrad operates on a different clock than the rest of Prague — slower, quieter, unbothered by your schedule.
