Walking loops in Kungsholmen, Stockholm
City Hall's red brick tower dominates Kungsholmen's eastern tip, and its waterfront is where the Nobel banquet happens every December. But the rest of the island is residential and pleasantly undramatic — bakeries, a beach that fills in summer, walking paths along Norr Malarstrand where the lake water laps against stone walls. It's the neighborhood Stockholmers recommend when you ask where they'd actually live. The sunsets from the western shore are unreasonably good.
