Jätkäsaari walking loops — a waterfront still taking shape
Jätkäsaari is still becoming itself. Cranes punctuate the skyline and fresh apartment blocks stand next to construction sites next to the massive cruise terminal where ships the size of city blocks dock and disgorge thousands. Walking the waterfront promenade, you get the strange sensation of being on finished ground surrounded by unfinished everything. The sea air is real though, and the views toward Lauttasaari and the open water don't care that the neighborhood's still under construction.
