The Island Trail starts where Svendborg meets the South Funen Archipelago — a long-distance path threading between harbors, half-timbered houses, and coastal meadows. The town itself has maritime bones: Naturama perches at the waterfront, the Svendborg-Faaborg railway bed is now a walking path, and the preserved merchant houses date back centuries. The archipelago view from the harbor bridge stretches across flat water to islands that look close enough to swim to but aren't.
