Ruissalo's botanical garden adds structure to the wildness, and the beaches deliver actual sand. Connected by bridge, it feels separate from the city in the way islands always do. The wooden villas from the 1800s sit among the trees like summer never ended. Cycling the loop road takes an hour and covers every mood from forest to shore.
